Clinical Skills Training
The goal of clincal skills training here at LECOM Bradenton is to help our club members understand
the unique dynamics of emergency medicine and to provide a foundation of knowledge to build upon.
We are excited about the events we have planned for the coming year. We plan to continue an event that we
held last year, an advanced skills clinic. 25 plus students participated with fellow classmates from various
backgrounds along with a local emergency room PA teaching: endotracheal intubation, IV skills, IM/SQ injection,
IO, needle decompression and chest tube insertion, and surgical crich. We are excited about hosting another
skills day in the spring for the LECOM Bradenton students that will include the intubation, the ever popular
surgical crich and chest tube insertion along with a new and different station. We also plan to have training
just for our EMED club members to include, MCI training, basic arrhythmia scenario training, basic splinting and
general first aid skills, along with the hopes of a tour of the local Trauma helicopter.

Now third year Bill Nazzaro and second year Liz Todak
getting setup to teach the endotracheal intubation station.

In the front standing is our current EMED President Mark Shank and
standing behind is now second year Kristen Archdeacon teaching IV skills.

Facing away is now, second year Greg Pham
teaching surgical cric on pig's trachs.

Our local PA lecturing about the finer points of chest tube insertion.
